Dial-A-Ride  

Monday-Friday 
8:50 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

To use this service you must have a valid Recreation ID for the current year. This service is to assist El Segundo residents by transporting them to and from their destinations of choice. The boundaries of DAR are restricted to the residential area of El Segundo. This area includes west of Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), north of El Segundo Boulevard and south of Imperial Highway. DAR dispatch can schedule riders up to two weeks in advance.

Doctor Dial-A-Ride

Thursdays 8:15 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Fee: $5.00 round trip or one way. 

This service transports resident seniors and disabled to and from their doctor appointments. Riders must have a valid Rec ID for the current year. From El Segundo, riders can go as far south as Torrance, as far east as Hawthorne and as north as Marina del Rey. Dispatch can schedule riders up to three months in advance from the current month. Space is limited.

Lunchtime Shuttle 

Monday – Friday 11:45 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.

This is a free service that transports riders from the business side of El Segundo to downtown El Segundo for lunch. The shuttle runs on a continuous loop to 17 corporate and downtown El Segundo locations.

Beach Shuttle

Monday – Saturday 
11:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. 

This shuttle operates during ESUSD spring and summer breaks. Ridership is free with a valid Rec ID for the current year.Otherwise it is $1.00 one-way. The shuttle runs on a continuous loop  with stops in residential El Segundo. It then takes riders to El Porto Beach.

Beach Striders

Monday/Wednesday/Friday 
8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m and 9:15 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

This free program is available to adult and senior El Segundo residents with a valid Rec ID. Our Dial-A-Ride shuttle transports the Striders groups the Manhattan Beach Strand and returns to the Joslyn Center after their walk. Participants must register the class prior to the start of the session. Class Registration for each time group is limited to 20 participants.

Bus Passes 

The Joslyn Center sells Metro monthly bus passes and Beach Cities Transit (BCT) monthly passes for El Segundo residents. Subsidized Senior and reduced fare disabled passes are available with valid Metro TAP and BCT cards. Residents and those working in El Segundo  may conveniently purchase regular fare, student monthly passes, Metro EZ Pass, Zone passes, daily passes and add stored value to their TAP cards.

COVID-19 Senior Outreach

The Rotary Club of El Segundo and City of El Segundo Recreation & Parks Department have developed a COVID-19 Senior Outreach program to assist community members over the age of 65 who need assistance shopping. Shopping requests are limited to 15 items which can include basic foods, household goods and essential hygiene items.
